Five Oceans provides environmental services for all stages of the offshore exploration and production cycle through to decommissioning of a field. 

Exploration and Appraisal

Through the provision of EIA studies, environmental/marine mammal observers (MMO’s) and fishery liaison consultants, we are well placed to assist with all environmental aspects of 2D, 3D and 4D seismic surveys, bathymetric surveys and seabed coring projects.

Detailed quantitative site investigations may be required to define the environmental baseline prior to appraisal drilling. These generally include seawater, sediment and general marine surveying; liaison with the Statutory Planning Authorities; environmental permit application; and, the development of detailed environmental management plans. Following rig mobilization and during drilling operations, cementing, logging and coring, well testing and finally well suspension and abandonment third party environmental monitoring, auditing and post operational environmental surveys may be required. 

Field Development, Commissioning and Production

Five Oceans can provide the necessary expertise to enable environmental planning for all offshore oil and gas field infrastructure development, which may include the preparation of oil spill contingency plans, marine and atmospheric dispersion modeling, risk assessments, sensitivity mapping, and provide a framework for appropriate monitoring and auditing work. This relates to construction and installation of fixed, floating and sub sea production facilities and export facilities. Five Oceans will also carry out the surveys and impact assessments necessary for the development of onshore reception facilities.

Our experience offshore complements our experience with the onshore oil and gas industry , which, in addition to consultancy services to all aspects of exploration and production, includes work carried out for refineries, pipeline development, LNG loading and processing facilities, commercial and retail facilities.
